A former New York real estate lawyer who allegedly murdered a young woman has been charged with murder in her death.
Evan Ackermann, 42, is charged with second-degree murder in the July 15 death of 23-year-old Jennifer Johnson in the Bronx.
Prosecutors say he lured Johnson to her home in a car with a promise of money and then shot her with a .38-caliber revolver as she sat in the back seat of the car.
She died at a hospital.
The attorney is charged under the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Act, which requires anyone who commits murder to register as a sex offender.
According to the New York Times, prosecutors believe Ackermanne is the ringleader of the alleged murder conspiracy.
Prosecutors allege that Ackermanns mother, Susan Ackerman, and a cousin, Daniel Ackermannn, both pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges in June and are serving time in jail.
According the Times, Ackermannis parents are also in custody.
