A home in the heart of downtown Tucson is currently listing for $3.9 million, but you’ll have to pony up a lot of cash if you want to move in there.
That’s because a house that’s a few blocks away from the state capitol in downtown Tucson can now sell for as much as $2.8 million.
But don’t expect to pay more than that for the 5,100 square foot, 4,800 square foot condo unit at the top of the hill.
The new condo unit is currently listed for $2,879,500.
That makes it the highest listed home in Tucson, according to listing site Zillow, and the third-highest in Arizona.
But it’s a pretty high price tag, according a listing agent who’s working on the listing for the condo unit.
The listing agent also noted that the condo will be listed for at least another five years.
But the property has an amazing history that dates back to 1882, when it was built by the City of Tucson, which was located just north of the capitol.
The building was purchased in the 1920s by the Tucson Historical Society, which then bought it.
The Historic Tucson Association purchased it in 1986, and then sold it to the city of Tucson in 2004.
The house was purchased for $800,000 in 2011.
The buyer then sold the home for a $2 million price tag.
The seller of the house has not yet commented on the sale.
