The NFL will likely take its own path to moving the league to new venues, and that could include the Oakland Raiders stadium in Carson, California, which is being developed by the San Diego Chargers.
If the NFL decides to move the season opener in 2019, it will move to the Chargers’ new stadium in Inglewood, California.
The Raiders are set to move to Los Angeles in 2020.
But it is unclear when that will happen, and the Chargers could not be reached for comment.
The NFL has a 10-year, $1.4 billion lease with the city of Ingleton that runs through 2032.
That lease expires in 2029, and a new lease could be in the works, with a new owner potentially taking over after that.
But that has not happened.
